• Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School (OAES) doubled the number of students performing on or above grade level on the district’s diagnostic assessment.

• OAES consistently surpassed proficiency projections on 3rd-5th grade ELA and Math district assessments.

• Established a robust SEL program to meet the SEL needs of students during and after the pandemic.

• Established a grant-funded STEM/ robotics lab to enhance students’ learning experience.

• Started a student-run daily news broadcast system to enhance their STEM experience.

• OAES implemented the pervasive use of balanced numeracy and balanced literacy model.

• OAES implements and monitors the consistent use of differentiated instruction for all learners.

• OAES was awarded a grant to establish an outdoor science lab/ classroom.

• OAES increased instructional staff diversity from 5% to 40% in four years.

• Norton Elementary School was named beating the odds school in 2016-17.

• Norton Elementary School was named a family-friendly school for 2015-2016.
